The Happy Home was founded on 24th February 1976 by the late 
Rev. Joseph Nathaniel and late Mrs. Johanna Nathaniel with two destitute children. 

The late Rev. Nathaniel worked among the tribes in the Nilgiris for more than 32 years and after his retirement from church services, he started this home in his personal capacity.

The strength was gradually increased to 25. This home has been registered as a " Charitable Trust " under the name and style of " Rev. Fr. Nathaniel Charitable Trust ". we have eight efficient Trustees. Now the strength has been increased to 50
